Mirabel side pleated knit top and dress (PDF)

Featuring:  fitted at the shoulders, upper bust and bust, and semi-fitted at the waist and hips. This top and dress is designed for knit fabrics and features mirrored pleats at the waistline with a draped faux waistband layered over them. The back bodice includes a waist seam for improved shaping and fit. The pattern comes as a top or a knee-length dress with a draped hem. Top comes with asymmetrical hem (with less or more variation in length). It can be sewn sleeveless or with hemmed short, 3/4, or long sleeves. The neckline is finished with enclosed binding and is available in both regular and lower depths.

DIFFICULTY

We know it might look intimidating, but this is actually an easy and satisfying sewing project! The PDF pattern is rated beginner level (2–3/10) and comes with a detailed, easy-to-follow tutorial. Most sewists can complete it in 1–2 hours, though time may vary depending on your skills, equipment, and supplies.

Light to medium weight knit fabric with 30-50% horizontal and 30-50% vertical stretch and medium to good recovery and a body to it (lightweight Ponte, rib knit, Scuba and similar fabrics).

Neckline/armholes finish (binding)

Very light to light knit fabric with excellent recovery and at least 30-50% horizontal and vertical stretch. The best option would be knit lining or tricot fabric.
